The design details that matter
Saunas need their own ventilation path and heat-tolerant linings around the cabin; electrics need sizing early because a sauna heater draws 6–9kW — usually a dedicated supply from the house consumer unit, planned before the trench is dug, not after. Hot tubs bring similar supply questions plus structural ones: a filled tub weighs well over a tonne, so bases and any supporting deck are engineered accordingly.
Moisture is handled by zoning: fully enclosed insulated space for the dry uses, ventilated or open-sided structure over the wet ones. The classic mistake — a standard sealed garden room with a hot tub steaming inside it — writes off ceilings in a couple of winters, and we'll talk you out of it.
